Cedarbrook Camp offer several ways for you and your family to be involved in our ministry.
Staff members at CCPA are key players in the camp experience by acting as counselors to cabin groups or by teaching camper activities. Good staff members help campers to make friends, learn new skills, feel loved and accepted as part of the group, face fears and disappointments, and understand the Bible and apply it to their lives. Our staff members are a mix of moms, youth group leaders, CILT/BUILT graduates, and other Christian men and women ages 18 and over who love the Lord and who want to serve Him at camp. During pre-camp training, Cedarbrook staff receive instruction in safety measures and emergency procedures, counseling techniques, teaching methods, evangelism, and camping skills.
Are you interested? Fill out a staff application or email questions to Quail. The application is a fillable PDF form which can either be submitted via email or printed and mailed to: Paula "Quail" Worden, 26 Broadfield Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
The intent of the service team program is to provide additional leadership/service opportunities for campers while also meeting some of the needs of camp.
Potential areas of service are: maintenance (cleaning); kitchen; horses; lifeguard.
Guidelines for service team:
1. Camp fee will be half of the current camp fee.
2. Campers will be in a cabin group, will participate in Bible Exploration, 1-2 activity periods, and most evening programs.
3. Campers may be limited to one week on the service team.
4. Service team may be limited in number.
5. Campers must be completing 9th grade to apply for the service team.
6. A staff member will be responsible for general supervision of service team members; staff in each program area will give direct on-the-job supervision (e.g. cook/asst. cook will give specific instructions and supervision, but service team supervisor will administer guidance and correction as needed).
If you are interested in being a part of the Camper Service Team, contact Paula Worden, aka "Quail", or call at (302) 738-8186.
CCPA has a few projects in mind that we would like to do as a group. When we schedule the work days, we will let you know -- we'd like to have participation from many families. Work days benefit our camp and we want all of you to feel like you are part of it!
Update: Work day scheduled for April 25, 2009!
Arrive around 9 a.m. and plan to spend the day. Projects include enlarging the platform at the outdoor chapel and general spring cleaning, and any other projects that come up.
Camp Conquest is also in need of waterproof storage boxes to be built at the zip line and giant swing to store equipment during the season. These would need to be locked.
